Seven Types of Hacker

1. White Hat Hackers: Also known as ethical hackers or security researchers, white hat hackers use their skills to identify vulnerabilities in systems, networks, or applications. They work with the permission of the system owner to help improve security by finding and fixing weaknesses.

2. Black Hat Hackers: Black hat hackers are individuals who engage in hacking activities with malicious intent. They exploit vulnerabilities for personal gain, to cause harm, or for illegal activities such as stealing sensitive information, launching cyberattacks, or disrupting systems.

3. Grey Hat Hackers: Grey hat hackers fall somewhere between white hat and black hat hackers. They may identify vulnerabilities without permission, but instead of exploiting them maliciously, they notify the system owners or make the vulnerabilities public to draw attention to the weaknesses.

4. Script Kiddies: Script kiddies are individuals who have limited technical skills and rely on pre-existing hacking tools and scripts to carry out attacks. They often lack in-depth knowledge but may still cause disruptions or compromise systems by using readily available tools.

5. Hacktivists: Hacktivists are hackers who carry out cyber attacks or deface websites for political, social, or ideological reasons. They use hacking as a means to promote a particular cause or express dissent.

6. State-Sponsored Hackers: State-sponsored hackers are individuals or groups employed or supported by a government or nation-state to conduct hacking activities. Their goals may include intelligence gathering, espionage, or disruptive actions targeting other countries, organizations, or individuals.

7. Hackers for Financial Gain: These hackers are primarily motivated by financial rewards. They may engage in activities such as stealing credit card information, conducting identity theft, ransomware attacks, or other cybercrimes aimed at financial gain.
